Domingos de Barros Octaviano

Domingos de Barros Octaviano is a Brazilian artist, living and working in Braunschweig, Germany. At Hestia Art Residency & Exhibitions Bureau he spent three months, researching and doing a collaborative project with Branislav Nikolić that resulted in an exhibition “You’ll make sense when you find a horizon” curated by Teodora Jeremić.

“I was thinking about vista for a long time, the first sketches I made in 2017 and they were only about the “Gávea” which is the highest part of the boat used to look for pieces of land. Then it developed to be the hole boat as when you come to the installation place you think you are sailing. I’m so happy I got the opportunity to make it this year and at Hestia is where I did my first “sambaqui” drawing in March 2018.”

Apart from that, Domingos Octaviano collaborated with Centre for Graphic Arts and Visual Researches, Faculty of Fine Arts and created a series of lithographs depicting his impressions of Belgrade.

Domingos de Barros Octaviano is also one of our represented artists. For his full biography and works click here.
